Real Acceptance!

I am accepted by God, not based on what I do but solely on the perfect righteousness of Jesus! My acceptance is not based on anything about me, I have absolutely nothing to offer, I have nothing that God needs. No matter how much I try to work for God and be a "good" person, I'll never ever make it on my own.
The gospel addresses my grim news and condition, I in myself am an object of God's wrath (Romans 1:18 )( Ephesians 2:3); there's nothing that I can do about it, it's how I came into this world. But...God, those are such reassuring words!! God in His providential grace has made a way, given me a tremendous solution that far outweighs my problem! The good news always outweighs the bad news!
It gets even better, I am now seated with Christ in the heavenlies (Eph. 2:6) amazing! An object of God's wrath now seated with God's son in glory!
There is no need for us to feel guilty if we are in Christ, no need to feel insecure before the Father. God accepts us based on the perfect righteousness of His son, not on the basis of our performance. The good news far outweighs the bad, praise His great name!!

Martyn Lloyd-Jones states in one of his commentary on Ephesians 2:4 that the words "But God" are really the gospel in two words. Great refresher post on my acceptance by Christ.
